Greg B. Carter
Greg Carter, the managing shareholder of Blanchard, Robertson, Mitchell & Carter, P.C. came to the firm in 1981 following a one-year clerkship with Judge David J. Dixon on the Western District Court of Appeals in Kansas City. He is admitted to practice in all Missouri courts, the United States District Court of Missouri, and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Since 1981, the majority of Greg’s practice has been devoted to the defense of employers and insurers and self-insureds in workers’ compensation cases. He has tried well over 200 workers’ compensation cases in his career, and made numerous appearances before the Labor and Industrial Relations Commission and the Courts of Appeals. From sole proprietorships to small businesses to Fortune 500 companies, he has defended a majority of the employers in this region.
The balance of Greg’s practice is spent defending civil cases, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability cases, civil rights cases, insurance cases, and general liability matters.
Originally from Warrensburg, Missouri, Greg graduated from Central Missouri State University and then went to law school at the University of Missouri, graduating in 1980. Since coming to Joplin he has served for 12 years on the Board of the Joplin Family Y, including two years as Board President, and also served a three-year term on the Board of the Joplin Workshops serving as President for one year.
