Prior to joining Blanchard, Robertson, Mitchell & Carter he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Gary A. Fenner at the Missouri Court of Appeals, Western District, and served as an associate with firms in Wichita, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. Phil was licensed to practice law in Kansas state and federal courts in 1993, and admitted to practice in Missouri state and federal courts in 1995.
Phil served as Editor in Chief of the Kansas Journal of Law & Public Policy during his final year of law school. As a staff member, his article entitled “America 2000 and Educational Accountability: Can Dick and Jane Sue Their Teacher?” was published in the summer 1992 edition of the Journal of Law & Public Policy. Phil also assisted in organizing the Journal’s annual symposium and served as an Appellate Advocacy Instructor during law school.
Phil has a broad range of experience in products liability, commercial liability, premises liability, and auto liability matters, including extensive deposition, pretrial and motion practice experience. He has served as both first and second chair attorney in several trials and has experience in mediation proceedings and administrative hearings, including workers’ compensation matters in Kansas and Missouri.
Phil is a member of the American Bar Association and the Missouri Bar as well as the Jasper County Bar Association.
